Lexus Australia has confirmed it will extend its standard new-vehicle warranty from 2022.
The current four-year/100,000km term will increase to a five-year/unlimited-kilometre period from January 1 next year, matching that offered locally by Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Genesis.
That said, Lexus Australia’s first all-electric model, the UX300e small SUV, launches this month with the new coverage.
And for Australian buyers who took delivery of a new Lexus vehicle in 2021, their warranty will be extended to the new length at no cost.
For those that opt for a Lexus Australia model with a hybrid or all-electric powertrain, the battery is now covered by a separate 10-year/unlimited-kilometre term, up from an eight-year/160,000km period.
Next year is shaping up as a big one for Lexus Australia, with the second-generation NX mid-size SUV’s staggered launch starting in January, while the next-generation LX upper-large SUV is due later on. The fifth-generation RX large SUV is also expected in 2022.
