Skoda Australia Head of Marketing & Product Kieran Merrigan has confirmed a raft of new pure-electric and hybrid models for local sale over the next three years, including high-performance RS EVs, two plug-in hybrids and production versions of recently unveiled high-profile concept SUVs.
Merrigan revealed the future product offensive with a rapid-fire series of announcements, starting with the 2026 arrival of a performance flagship RS version of the Elroq and a wagon version of its larger Enyaq RS sibling.
The Elroq RS picks up an extra motor and all-wheel drive over its standard single-motor rear-wheel drive stablemate, for outputs of 250kW and in excess of 600Nm, delivering a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.4 seconds. And depending on supply, Merrigan says the aim is to have it in market here by the second quarter of next year.

Underpinned by the same MEB platform and dual motor powertrain, the larger Enyaq wagon boasts identical power and performance numbers to the Elroq RS and existing Enyaq RS Coupe.
And after four months of local testing plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions of the Kodiaq SUV and Superb sedan and wagon have been approved for local sale in early 2026.
Using the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine combined with an 85kW electric motor these PHEVs boast combined outputs of 150kW/350Nm.
Using a 25.7kWh lithium-ion battery, claimed pure-electric range is over 100km with up to 50kW DC changing delivering a 10-80 per cent top-up in under 30 minutes.
According to Merrigan, examples of each model were assessed over more than 30,000km after which the battery health test for both returned 100 per cent residual energy content.
And finally, two concept cars have not only been green lit for production but locked in for Australian sale as early as 2027.
Unveiled in 2024, the Epiq is a light (4.1m long) SUV riding on the VW Group MEB platform and boasting an impressive 490-litre boot space. No other technical details at this stage.
Then, the Vision 7S, first shown in mid-2022, is a full-size, seven-seat SUV with possible single-motor, RWD and dual-motor AWD configurations.
Also riding on the MEB chassis, it boasts an 89kWh battery and up to 200kW DC charging capacity for a range of over 600km.
It also features a 14.6-inch rotating central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital dash display.
Mr Merrigan noted final specification and pricing for all the new models he outlined are yet to be confirmed, but concluded by saying, “What you can see is we’re building an electric vehicle range from small, medium, large, upper large, and we’ll have a whole range of PHEVs and battery electric SUVs.”
And in a final piece of new news he added, “We’re working on mild-hybrid for Kodiaq and Octavia, especially; in market around quarter two (of 2026).”
