From time to time my new 2017 Mitsubishi Triton loses the throttle. You have to push down about one third before anything happens and then the revs come in at around 2500 rpm and it takes off.
The other day in traffic I lost all throttle and the car hardly moved. The NRMA came but by then it started and was OK. I have been back to dealership numerous times and while they have been ok they say nothing is wrong.
I can put up with the throttle problem from time to time, but not stopping in traffic. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It sounds like it is going into limp mode, which means the computer is seeing something wrong, perhaps with a sensor. Being intermittent it’s hard for the dealer to fix. Persist with it and keep taking it back.
Next time it stops turn the ignition off and then attempt to restart it. It’s likely that it will start and you should be able to drive on.
