The DSG gearbox in my 2009 VW Golf sticks in gear and won't change. I have taken it to a dealer at a number of times, but have always been told that 'it is normal', and that it's the way I drive it. I have recently changed my driving style, but it is still getting stuck in gears. My father owns three VWs with DSG gearboxes and he's having problems with two of them. I have heard numerous complaints by Volkswagen owners about the DSG. I have complained to Volkswagen Group Australia and am extremely disgusted with the service I have received from them. They have admitted to me that there are problems with the DSG and that they have been recalled in some countries, but not Australia. They are not helping and do not seem to know what to do. Any advice on what I can do would be appreciated.
Patience and persistence is the only way ahead for you. There are problems with the DSG, but VW seems to prefer to stonewall owners when they strike trouble with it instead of being pro-active and fixing it. Keep reporting the problems, keep demanding they be fixed, and consider legal action if it isn't fixed.
