The Cadillac Optiq was first revealed in 2023 as the brand’s entry-level electric SUV. It was designed to sit below the Lyriq in Cadillac’s line-up and give the marque a global foothold in the compact luxury EV market. The model launched first in China before being confirmed for North America, positioning it as a more accessible way into the company’s growing electric range.

By 2024, the Cadillac Optiq was offered in multiple configurations with front- and all-wheel drive options. It shared General Motors’ Ultium platform with other EVs across the group, including models from Chevrolet and Buick. In China, the SUV was also marketed as the Cadillac Optiq IQ, highlighting its role in the brand’s regional electric line-up. Updates over this period focused on range, charging speed and in-car technology to keep it competitive against European and Korean rivals.

Today, the 2025 Cadillac Optiq is aimed at younger buyers looking for an electric luxury SUV at a lower price point. It sits as the brand’s most affordable EV while retaining Cadillac’s design cues and premium positioning. As part of Cadillac’s strategy to go all-electric by 2030, the Optiq plays a key role in attracting new customers to the brand and broadening its presence in markets beyond the United States.

The line-up currently starts at $80,000 for the Optiq Sport and ranges through to $80,000 for the range-topping Optiq Sport.
