The Audi Q6 e-tron was first revealed in 2023 as a new mid-size electric SUV positioned between the Q4 e-tron and the larger Q8 e-tron. Built on the new Premium Platform Electric architecture co-developed with Porsche, it shared much of its underpinnings with the Porsche Macan Electric. Audi pitched the Q6 e-tron as a volume model that would broaden its EV line-up beyond early niche offerings.
From launch, the Audi Q6 e-tron featured both single and dual-motor options, with battery packs targeting a real-world range of more than 500km. It was released in Europe and China before rolling out to other markets. While always marketed as the Q6 e-tron globally, some trim and performance variants carried regional badges. Audi continued refining the model with software updates and improvements to charging speed and efficiency.
By 2025 the Audi Q6 e-tron had become a core model in the brand’s EV strategy. It filled the gap for buyers wanting a practical SUV without stepping into the larger, more expensive Q8 e-tron. As rivals from BMW, Mercedes and Tesla expanded, the Q6 e-tron gave Audi a direct competitor in the mid-size premium EV segment. It remains one of the brand’s most important electric vehicles for global growth.
The line-up currently starts at $99,990 for the Q6 E-Tron and ranges through to $127,500 for the range-topping Q6 E-Tron Quattro.
