FROM $171,100

The Polestar 5 large sedan began its journey as the Polestar Precept concept car in 2020. This flagship model represents the brand's shift toward bespoke engineering. It uses a unique bonded aluminium platform developed by the company's UK research team. This architecture provides high structural rigidity to support the performance goals of the electric grand tourer.

Following its global debut at the 2025 Munich Motor Show, the production Polestar 5 launched in international markets. In Australia it is a direct rival to the Porsche Taycan. Local models have 800V fast-charging capability and a dual-motor powertrain. The sedan notably lacks a traditional rear window, instead relying on a digital camera system for rear visibility.

The 2026 Polestar 5 is focused on high-end luxury and performance. While it is known simply by its numerical name globally, its development was heavily publicised under the Precept moniker. The vehicle serves as a halo product for the brand, showcasing sustainable interior materials and a dedicated design language that will influence future SUV models.
