2009 Mini Cooper D review - Long-term owner

Multimedia and safety technology: 9/10

There's a huge GPS map in the speedo. The sports package tightens steering and suspension. You can disconnect DSG and ABS for real fun.

Practicality: 9/10

It's very practical as a two-seater, with a huge boot. But there's poor legroom in rear seat. There is lots of legroom up front.

Driving: 9/10

This car is even fun to drive at 40km/h. Press the Sports mode button and it handles like a go-kart. Cruise control at speed is very comfortable.

Running costs: 10/10

I can easily average under 4L/100km. Servicing is simple and a good price for oil and filters. It has DPF burn at times. No cost. Tyres has been the biggest expense.

Reliability: 10/10

Nothing has ever gone wrong with this car. Extremely reliable.
