How do you make a Prius more 'Murican? Put a freedom-powered V8 in it.

By far the most rude and crude Toyota Prius you’ll ever see, Nick Pilippides and his team from American Racing Headers has transformed this hybrid into a fossil fuel burning monster.

The engine is a supercharged 6.2-litre Hellcat V8 which is usually found in Dodge’s msucle car line-up.

A larger 4.5-litre Whipple supercharger has been added to the engine to take power from 527kW to 597kW and according to Nick, it is currently ‘detuned’.

As you can probably guess the body is the only original part of the Prius as the underneath is made up of a double frame rail, a chromoly tube chassis, a 9.0-inch Ford rear end and a Tremec manual gearbox.

Just looking at the car is an assault on your eyes especially with the countless stickers and the modified Toyota badges that looks like… hmmm a gentleman’s sausage.

It doesn’t get any better on the inside with a large picture of Donald Trump’s face attached to the headrest of the driver's seat.

Despite needing to move the dash and front seats back about 30cm to accommodate the Hellcat engine, the V8 still barely fits under the hood.

Built as a street car, it doubles as a drag car and the team is aiming to get it down the quarter mile in eight seconds.

Do you think this is the world’s coolest Prius? Let us know in the comments.
