Riding on a crotch rocket can be a terrifying experience, especially on a Kawasaki ZX10R Ninja, which can out-accelerate most sports cars.

Imagine trying to break a land speed record while piloting one and being blind at the same time?

Ben Felten, from Team Blind Speed Kawasaki is the man with balls of steel, who will be defending his title of the 'fastest blind rider on earth' at the Lake Gairdner salt flats in South Australia next week.

Haha, mate I'm just going to send it.

He achieved an average top speed of 272.596km/h (over two runs) at the 2018 World Speed Trails Australia and is looking to go faster this year.

Facing challengers from Europe and America with fully functioning eyes, Ben with the help of his guide, former Grand Prix racer, Kevin Magee aims to push past 325km/h.

That’s enough to frighten anyone in a car, let alone on a glorified pushbike.

Reckon Ben can crack 325km/h? Let us know in the comments.

Following a passion shared by his father and grandfather, Mitchell’s love of cars really kicked off with his Godfather’s purchase of a new Mazda RX-8. Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
