Nothing like starting your day off with a video that'll make any petrolhead cringe and ask why?

Ford Australia's Barra straight six engines are famous worldwide for being strong and a dependable powerplant.

However, a video has surfaced online that demonstrates just how indestructible these six cylinders are.

Some thong wearing, Aussie bloke has gone out of his way to either prove the Falcon's durability or to make the whole internet hate him. You decide.

Everyone knows an engine can't work without oil, yet this guy ignores common knowledge and process to fill the engine with water, giving a new meaning to water-cooled.

Ford built tough.
Ford built tough.

Despite this the 4.0-litre six fires up but doesn't sound healthy. The engine does cut off after the owner begins to pour water into the throttle body however.

The torture doesn't stop here as he attempts to turn the Falcon's engine over again and just when you think it's died, the mighty six coughs to life.

Sounding like a whining puppy who just wants to be left alone, the owner who has no mechincial sympathy continues to abuse the poor engine by adding even more water.

To the credit of the Barra, it doesn't stop ticking despite the pain you can hear it suffering from.

Watch the full video here, if you want to be enraged.

Following a passion shared by his father and grandfather, Mitchell’s love of cars really kicked off with his Godfather’s purchase of a new Mazda RX-8. Exposure to that car changed his world forever, leading to an RX-7 obsession. To feed his automotive addiction, Mitchell decided to become a motoring journalist and made his mark at several high-profile motoring publications before landing at CarsGuide. While he is a rotary loyalist, Mitchell also has a massive love for Aussie muscle cars, and dreams of one day getting behind the wheel of a Charger R/T E49 (if anyone will let him). His other passions include Queensland, and spending Saturdays with the boys.
