Nissan X-TRAIL FAQs

My 2024 Nissan X-Trail e-Power has a hybrid system malfunction

This is far from an unknown problem, and there seems to be a couple of major causes.

The first is a failed or failing 12-volt battery that needs to be replaced. It seems odd that the conventional 12-volt battery could have an effect on the high-voltage e-Power hybrid system, but the 12-volt battery is actually critical for initialising the car’s various systems when you start it up.

The second cause we’ve heard of is a clogged or failed EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve which forces the car into 'limp home' mode to avoid further damage to the engine.

Your car is under warranty, so that should cover things, but we’ve heard of some owners waiting long periods for replacement parts for this model. Either way, it’s back to the dealership for this one.

Why is the the driver's seat of my 2024 Nissan X-Trail not as comfy as the passenger seat?

If this was an older car, the explanation would be simple: Cars always have at least a driver on board, but sometimes only a driver. Which means that the driver’s seat gets worn out faster than any other seat in the car. But you car is quite new, so that shouldn’t be the case.

Assuming there’s no manufacturing flaw in the seat or the way it’s mounted, the cause of this could be as simple as a driver’s seat that has more adjustments available (manual or electrically-operated) than the front passenger’s seat. If that’s the case, you might find that the mechanics of those adjustments gobble up some space that is used for foam or other padding in the not-so-adjustable passenger’s chair.
