Second-generation Koleos mid-size SUV to appear in Australian showrooms before all other markets when it arrives on August 1.Australia will be the first market in the world to see the new Renault Koleos in showrooms when it goes on sale next month.First shown at Beijing in April, the all-new model will play a crucial role in Renault's Australian linuep by replacing the slow-selling original model that has soldiered on since 2008.The new Koleos will continue as the only Renault SUV above the Captur on the Australian market, with the French brand electing not to bring the Kadjar that sits between the two internationally to our shores.medium SUVsBased on the Renault-Nissan Common Module Family (CMF-CD) modular platform used by the Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail, plus the Kadjar and the upcoming Megane hatch, the new Koleos promises to be a significant step forward for the brand in Australia."It's bigger both inside and out, is one of the roomiest medium SUVs in its class and enjoys a range of new technologies that provide convenience and peace of mind", Renault Australia marketing boss Jason Miller says.Renault has confirmed a $29,990 starting price for the new model, which is $490 more than the model it replaces. This is also at least $2000 more than most rivals in the mid-size SUV segment, but counters the Japanese competition with a bigger 2.5-litre engine and standard CVT auto. Also confirmed for Australia is maximum towing capacity of 2000kg.Renault Australia is set to confirm full specifications and pricing before the end of the month.
