Renault Australia has extended the Koleos mid-size SUV’s standard warranty period, while driveaway pricing has also been introduced for the key model.
The Koleos is the only member of Renault Australia’s model range to receive the new warranty, which provides private buyers with seven years of coverage. Commercial use reduces the term to seven years or 200,000km, whichever comes first.
Either way, up to five years of roadside assistance is still bundled in if the Koleos is serviced at an authorised Renault dealership.
Speaking of which, a five-year/150,000km capped-price servicing plan is available for the Koleos, costing $2715. For reference, service intervals are every 12 months of 30,000km, whichever comes first.
Pricing-wise, the Koleos line-up now kicks off from $31,990 driveaway for the entry-level Life, rising to $35,990 for the mid-range Zen and $42,990 for the flagship Intens.
All grades come standard with front-wheel drive, although the Intens can be had in all-wheel-drive guise instead for a $2500 premium.
For reference, the Life’s driveaway pricing is just $500 more than its RRP, while the driveaway pricing and RRP of the Zen and Intens variants are the same.
Standard equipment in the Life includes C-shaped LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a horizontal 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 7.0-inch multi-function display, dual-zone climate control and cooled front cupholders.
Advanced driver-assist systems extend to autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, cruise control, a manual speed limiter, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.
The Zen adds 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, satellite navigation with live traffic, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leatherette upholstery, blind-spot monitoring and front and side parking sensors.
The Intens also includes two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power-operated tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, a vertical 8.7-inch touchscreen, an 11-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, park assist and high-beam assist.
Seven paintwork options are available (Millesim Red, Meissen Blue, Black, Grey, Mineral Beige, Universal White and Solid White).
The Koleos range is exclusively powered by a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, which is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Last November, the Toyota RAV4 rival received a facelift, which ushered in in a more pronounced grille, LED foglights, tweaked bumpers, larger front and rear skid plates, redesigned alloy wheels and extra chrome trim.
Inside, the Koleos picked up an updated R-Link 2 multimedia system, while its USB ports were relocated to in front of the gear selector.
