The auto elecs are correct, it is built into the computer and not possible to disconnect. You need to talk to an automotive locksmith who should be able to reset the immobiliser/alarm and that should fix it.

Verada a big winner

Answered by CarsGuide 7 May 2009

YOU are not alone. Many people say the Magna/Verada was a good car, but they had an image of it being boring. If Mitsubishi had somehow been able to race it against the Falcon or Commodore it might well have been able to change its reputation.

Rundown on verada

Answered by CarsGuide 29 Dec 2006

THE KS Verada is generally a good car and if the one you are considering is in the condition you describe I wouldn't see a problem with it. The engine is smooth with good performance and driveability and the transmission is reliable. But at that mileage you should carefully road test it to make sure there aren't any glitches when it comes to shifting, up or down, at light and heavy throttle, and that the chassis is well balanced.
