Verada a big winner

Asked by Peter Matchett

I NOTE the problems readers have with Falcons and Commodores. Having had both these cars in my time, but the best Australian vehicle I have owned has been the Mitsubishi Verada GT VI. It may not have the grunt of a V8 or a turbo, but it has all the options I wanted, is a pleasure to drive and, mechanically, I have not had any issues. It's a shame the Verada is no longer around because I would be lining up for another.

YOU are not alone. Many people say the Magna/Verada was a good car, but they had an image of it being boring. If Mitsubishi had somehow been able to race it against the Falcon or Commodore it might well have been able to change its reputation.
