Hyundai Elexio

FROM $58,990

The Hyundai Elexio fully electric mid-size SUV arrived in China in 2024 as part of Hyundai’s expanding EV push. It was developed primarily for the Chinese market through the Beijing Hyundai joint venture, sitting alongside global electric models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Hyundai Ioniq 6.

Unlike those cars, the Hyundai Elexio was tailored to local tastes, with its own exterior design and cabin layout. It rides on a version of Hyundai’s dedicated E-GMP electric platform.

From launch, the Hyundai Elexio offered single and dual motor variants, targeting competitive driving range and strong charging performance. Battery sizes and outputs varied by grade, with a focus on value and in-car technology. Large digital displays and over the air updates were standard highlights.

As of 2026, the Hyundai Elexio remains a single-generation model. In some export discussions it has been linked to the Ioniq family, though it retains the Elexio name in China.

The line-up currently starts at $58,990 for the Elexio (base) and ranges through to $61,990 for the range-topping Elexio Elite.

Inside, there’s leather seating that’s powered for driver and passenger and heated and ventilated up front. There’s also dual-zone climate, twin wireless charging pads and a household-style power point to power your devices.

And, of course, the headline act: a massive 27-inch screen that stretches almost all the way across the dash.

Hyundai Elexio Interior

By far the most interesting thing about the Hyundai Elexio's cabin is the fact that the entire dash, from in front of the passenger to pretty much the edge of the steering wheel, is dominated by a 27-inch screen that actually gives the passenger more screen real estate than the driver. It's the showpiece of an otherwise clean and modern-feeling cabin.

Hyundai Elexio Engine

There’s just the one powertrain on offer in the Hyundai Elexio, with a front-mounted electric motor that produces 160kW and 310Nm. That makes the Elexio feel spritely enough, but it’s no rocket ship.
