Ford Territory recall
By CarsGuide team · 09 May 2012
Ford has issued a recall on the Ford Territory for a defective impact sensor. The recall on the Ford SZ Territory is to fix a problem with the vehicle's left-hand C-pillar side impact sensor. The recall notice says there is a possibility that a sensor that forms part of the vehicle's supplemental restraint system may not have been secured. This could mean that in the event of a side collision, the side curtain airbag may not operate correctly, possibly resulting in serious injury to the occupant.Ford says only a small number of the vehicles are affected. The problem occurred in 134 Territorys built between 29 March  - 26 April 2012.

Which vehicle is suitable for towing a caravan
Answered by Graham Smith · 23 May 2014

Before buying the tow vehicle you should establish what you want to tow with it. It would be a good idea to decide on the caravan you want to buy and from that determine the total weight you want the car to handle, that is the weight of the caravan when it is fully loaded ready to travel. I say that because a car rated to tow 2 tonnes means you will only be able to tow a relatively small caravan. A diesel will be more economical when towing, and if that were your priority then I would go that way. I would suggest you consider a mid-sized SUV, like a Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Territory or a Toyota Kluger.

Ford slow to fix issue?
Answered by Graham Smith · 26 Sep 2014

I agree with you that consumer laws in this country are pathetic and need to be toughened up. That’s for the politicians to attend to. As much as the noise is something you shouldn’t have to put up with in a new car, it’s not enough to warrant a refund. But Ford should be able to tell you when it will have a fix available. Unfortunately car makers are often very slow in responding to consumer concerns, giving the impression they don’t care, and frustrating owners. Go back to your dealer, and talk to Ford directly, and make sure they understand your frustration.

Toyota Kluger for value
Answered by Paul Gover · 20 Apr 2015

On seven-seaters, the Territory runs last, the Kluger is fine and reasonable value and the Audi is definitely the car to reward yourself, but the Q7 could get very expensive if anything goes wrong.
