It was thought that the revised cooler design had fixed the problem, and that was backed up by a lack of reports of failed coolers for a long time, but more recently we have been getting reports of coolers failing and damaging the transmission. That would suggest the problem hasn't been fixed. It's worth considering fitting an external cooler.
Not sure what work you did on the front-end, but it's always worth starting with the wheels and tyres when you have a vibration of that type. That's the most likely cause of the problem.
You would seem to have a good case for full compensation and should take it further. It seems there are still problems with the auto transmission cooler and we're now starting to hear more about it.
We haven't had complaints about the seat comfort in the Mondeo. You should try changing the seat adjustment to see if you can find a position that doesn't cause your problem. The leg twitch could be caused by the position of the seat cushion, so try adjusting that first.
We have had very few reports of problems with the Ranger, and we have had none about the automatic gearbox. No doubt your dealer would be able to diagnose the problem and fix it for you.
I haven't heard of this problem before, but it's pleasing to hear that your dealer is still on the case and hasn't given up. It sounds like it could be a fix, but as you say you won't know for sure if the problem has been fixed until you get a spell of hot weather again.
The best option it would seem to me is to fit an external cooler and bypass Ford's cooler in the radiator. Changing the cooler every year doesn't really seem to be a workable option for most people.
I would want the dealer to check the transmission. It's a dual-clutch auto and they have been known to vibrate in the Focus under load like you describe.
When fitted with the standard towing pack the rear-wheel drive Territory is rated to tow 1600 kg, but can be uprated to 2300 kg when fitted with Ford's heavy-duty towing pack. The all-wheel drive model is rated to tow 2700 kg when fitted with the heavy-duty towing pack. I wouldn't recommend towing above the rated maximum.
