The Probe was built between 1988 and 1997 as the product of Ford's longtime partnership with Mazda, with both generations of the Probe underpinned by Mazda's front-wheel drive Mazda G platform that drove the Capella.
Based on the Mazda MX-6, the Probe was a compact, two-door sports coupe intented to replace the ageing fourth-generation Mustang in the North American market given its front-wheel drive platform was significantly cheaper and growing in popularity.
Ford fans rejected the move though and a new Mustang generation returned while the Probe was discontinued.
The line-up currently starts at $2,530 for the Probe (base) and ranges through to $4,180 for the range-topping Probe (base).
