Chery QQ3

Chery QQ3

The original Chery QQ3 arrived in 2003 as a budget city car. It quickly became a best-seller in China due to its low price and compact dimensions. While early models faced legal scrutiny regarding design similarities to the Daewoo Matiz, the car established Chery as a global player. It sold in various markets under names like the Chery IQ in Chile, Chery Sweet in Russia and MVM 110 in Iran.

A second generation launched in 2013 with a more modern exterior and improved safety features. This version utilized 0.8L and 1.0L petrol engines paired with manual or automated manual transmissions. In some European markets like Italy, it was rebranded as the DR Zero. Despite its popularity as an entry-level choice, production of the petrol-powered hatchback eventually slowed as consumer preferences shifted toward larger vehicles and electric alternatives.

The nameplate returned for 2026 as the all-new Chery QQ3 EV. This third generation is a fully electric subcompact hatchback built on a dedicated battery platform. It features a larger footprint and advanced cabin technology to compete with modern rivals. Known simply as the Chery Q in some export regions, the latest model maintains the original focus on affordable urban mobility while moving away from its internal combustion roots.
