One of Mazda's biggest successes of recent years is the diminutive CX-3, which launched to a rapturous reception in 2015. Will the 2017 update boost it further?

This week's Torquing Heads involves another very yellow Audi, this time the Audi Q2 2.0 TDI quattro. That's a bit of a mouthful, but it's an important car for the German manufacturer, landing in the (growing) war zone that is the mini-SUV segment.
The 2.0 TDI is the current flagship of the two car range, stretching mini-SUV pricing to the high $40k mark, before options.
Nikki is smack-bang in Audi's sights - she's a very busy mum and the Q2 is expected to be the second car in many of the households that buy one. As a result, it's pretty funky. The interior might be based on the A3's but there are a few design flourishes like the backlit perforated aluminium across the dash. On the outside it's Audi's new polygonal styling, which means an Audi like no other. Subtly, of course.
Not only is it funky, it's well-equipped, with plenty of airbags, ABS, stability and traction controls, auto emergency braking and quattro drivetrain for all-weather grip. You're well looked-after inside with a good sized media screen and Apple CarPlay, well-constructed interior and decent head and legroom for all passengers.
I reacquaint myself with the Q2 and see if that 2.0 TDI is at home in the city as well as out on country roads where I first drove it. Nikki wonders whether it fits her lifestyle and whether the wardrobe item supplied with the car fits me.
