Too sexy! 2024 Subaru BRZ sports car gains tS grade, but the Toyota GR 86 twin also gets a price hike

A few visual flourishes headline the BRZ tS, like badging and a red logo.

Subaru has increased pricing on its BRZ sports car for 2024 as it adds the flagship tS grade to the expanded line-up.

Order books have opened for the 2024 BRZ and deliveries are expected to commence in January 2024.

Differentiating it from the standard BRZ and BRZ S are visual tweaks like tS badging at the front and rear, an integrated red BRZ logo in the front headlights, and crystal black silica door mirrors.

Inside, the BRZ tS gains bordeaux and black 'Ultrasuede' and leather-accented upholstery, STI-embossed front seats, an STI red start button and an exclusive instrument cluster with the STI logo.

The tS was part of the first-generation BRZ line-up from 2017 and the new version mirrors some of those performance tweaks.

Subaru has increased pricing on its BRZ sports car for 2024 as it adds the flagship tS grade to the expanded line-up.

Those upgrades include STI-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes, as well as sticky Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres on all four of its 18-inch aluminium wheels.

As recently reported, manual versions of the BRZ now come with Subaru's EyeSight safety suite. Initially, only the automatic versions had the safety tech. The suite includes features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking and lane departure warning.

The model year update brings with it a price increase. The biggest increase is for the manual grades, which is likely due to that bump in standard safety gear.

The base BRZ manual coupe now starts from $43,790 before on-road costs, which is $3500 more than the 2023 version. The auto version is only up by $700.

Differentiating it from the standard BRZ and BRZ S are visual tweaks like tS badging at the front and rear.

These increased amounts are the same for the manual and auto mid-spec BRZ S which are now priced at $45,090 and $46,090 respectively.

The BRZ is having a bumper sales year, with Subaru selling 1494 units, that's a 43 per cent bump over the same period in 2022. It's also ahead of its twin, the Toyota GR 86 which has found 1053 homes.

Inside, the BRZ tS gains bordeaux and black ‘Ultrasuede’ and leather-accented upholstery.

Those figures mean the Subaru is currently leading the sub-$80,000 sports car segment, just edging out the Ford Mustang (1470 sales), which is in runout ahead of the new-generation version arriving in 2024.
