Range Rover SV Coupe revealed at Geneva

Just 999 examples of the SV Coupe luxury SUV will be built, with Australian availability expected to start early next year.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), with the help of its high-end customisation outfit Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), has developed a limited-run, three-door Range Rover, dubbed the SV Coupe.

JLR Australia has requested an allocation of up to 20 examples of the 999 SV Coupes that will be produced, and it is believed to start from about $500,000, excluding on-road costs.

Not only is the SV the world's first coupe-style upper-large luxury SUV, it's also the fastest-ever Range Rover. By way of a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that delivers 416kW of power and 700Nm of torque, the SV Coupe sprints from 0-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds.

While the special-edition SUV is unmistakably Range Rover, all aluminum exterior panels except the bonnet and lower-tailgate are bespoke including a fresh two-part grille and 'Noble Chrome' side vents.

The SV Coupe will also be the first of its kind to offer 23-inch wheels which surround 380mm (front) and 365mm (rear) ventilated brake discs.

The suspension sits 8mm lower than the standard five-door and automatically lowers an extra 15mm when suitable to enhance stability and fuel consumption.

Technology-wise, the SV Coupe features a 10.0-inch multimedia system, 10.0-inch control panel and a 10.0-inch colour head-up display. A 1700W 23-speaker premium sound system handles audio.

The SV Coupe will be built at the SVO Technical Centre in Warwickshire, England. Production is limited to just 999 examples, with each unit “hand-assembled to the client's personal specifcation”.

SV Coupe customers can chose from a wide pallet of interior and exterior paint schemes, as well as a range of bespoke badging, leather and wood veneer options.

"The introduction of the new SV Coupé brings a new level of individual expression to the Range Rover portfolio and builds on the success of Special Vehicle Operations' existing bespoke Range Rover programme” said Land Rover special operations managing director John Edwards.

“Feedback from SV clients who have already seen the vehicle in confidential commissioning sessions has been overwhelmingly positive"
