The MG S6 EV has gone on sale in the United Kingdom giving us a clear look at the SUV ahead of its arrival in Australia.
The fully electric S6 has arrived in UK dealerships starting with a list price of A$76,800 undercutting its Tesla Model Y rival by almost $15,000. Cars are generally much more expensive in the UK compared to Australia, expect it to lob in at or under the $50,000 mark if it arrives here.

The S6 has very similar looks to the S5 with a traditional SUV bodystyle, a sharply pointed nose with blade-like headlights and similar taillights which extend across the rear of the car.
The S6’s cabin also has many similarities to the S5 with the 12.8-inch central media screen, physical dials for climate control and volume and an inset wireless phone charging pad on the high centre console.
The S6 and S5 appear to share the same steering wheel, while the digital driver’s display on the S6 appears slightly different to that on its smaller sibling.
A 10.25-inch driver display is standard and a head-up display comes in the top-of-the-range grade.
In the UK the S6 will have a 77kWh battery and be offered with a choice of two drivetrains — a rear-wheel drive long range variant with a claimed 530km of range; and a dual motor all-wheel drive version with a range of up to 480km.
The dimensions of the S6 reveal it to be 4708 mm end-to-end making it 232mm longer than the S5. The size that really matters is the wheelbase, which is 110mm longer in the S6 and that translates to more cabin room for passengers.
The S6’s boot size is also 221 litres larger than the S5’s at 674 litres and has a 124-litre front boot, while the S5 doesn’t have one at all.
The S6 going on sale in another right-hand drive market such as the UK is a good sign for the model’s potential entry into Australia.
Since its Australian launch in June 2025 the S5 has seen impressive sales with 1466 sold until the end of October. An S6 would allow MG to compete against its Tesla Model Y rival at possibly a much lower price.
The MG S6 has already been spotted testing in Australia, and we can confirm the vehicle has been approved for sale here by the Federal Government.
