Here is the new-look 2022 Hyundai Palisade before you are meant to see it

Hyundai’s Palisade large SUV will be given a new lease on life thanks to an updated exterior, with the changes expected to roll out to Australian showrooms later this year.

Though the new model is not scheduled to be fully detailed until later this week at the New York motor show, the new styling has been leaked thanks a Hyundai USA video thumbnail.

Taking a cue from the new-generation Tucson and not-for-Australia Santa Cruz, the Palisade will adopt its sibling’s grille that incorporates headlights into the design.

The vertical daytime running lights and foglights of the existing Palisade carryover however, while the changes to the rear of the vehicle remain unclear.

Lashings of chrome can also be seen on the lower front bumper, window surrounds and on the bottom of the doors, meaning the Palisade on show could be a higher-spec grade.

Inside, the Palisade is also expected to be overhauled, though to what extent is still unknown.

Likewise, the powertrain options might also be fettled, but Hyundai is keeping its cards close to its chest until the new model is official shown off.

The current Palisade is priced from $55,000 before on-road costs for the front-drive petrol or $59,000 for the all-wheel-drive diesel.

The former is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 that punches out 217kW/355Nm, while the oil-burning version is propelled by a 147kW/440Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine.

Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
