TAC has released their latest ‘hard-hitting’ drug driving campaign aimed at getting drivers to straighten up

The campaign uses eye-bending images and visual trickery – think the mobius strip by visual artist M C Escher – to represent the impairments caused by cannabis use.

Clearly, the campaign exaggerates the effect such a drug would have on a driver. But, what can we say, it’s aesthetically pleasing and manages to warp even our sober minds.

These thought provoking posters are centred around an earlier television advertisement produced in 2009. Named ‘Swap’, the video uses shock-tactics to drive the message home – and believe us, it packs a real punch.

The main aim of the campaign is clear – to challenge current public opinion that it’s ok to drive after smoking cannabis. While many a stoner will argue that the drug’s effects do little to impair driving ability, the campaign highlights the detrimental impact being intoxicated can have.

Before you bong-bros shrug this off as another attack on your ‘harmless lifestyle choice’ – remember that next time you go up in smoke, it may not be the way you planned.
