Could an LDV T60 extra cab ute be on the way?

MG’s Extender ute is available in an extra cab body style, but LDV has no plans for such a version for its related T60.

Though MG’s Extender ute was revealed over the weekend in extra cab form, sister-brand LDV has no plans to incorporate the body style in its related T60 pick-up line-up.

A local LDV spokesperson told CarsGuide that the brand “is always evaluating our customers’ needs against future product timelines” and that “for now … we’re concentrating on our current product line-up”.

The extra cab could slot in between the dual cab and cab chassis varieties already on offer, and give the LDV T60 more ammunition against the likes of the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger which offer the body style.

However, with pricing of the T60 cab chassis range at $25,253 driveaway and $28,411 for the 4x2 and 4x4 versions respectively, and the dual cab variants opening at $30,516, there remains little room for the extra cab body style.

For reference, all T60’s are powered by a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel that outputs 110kW/360Nm, paired to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
