Skoda Australia has increased the pricing of its Octavia mid-size sedan and wagon, but buyers will be getting some extra equipment in return.

The Octavia range now costs $1300 more to get into. That’s the price increase on the entry-level Ambition sedan, which now lists for $31,690 plus on-road costs, while the wagon version is $1800 more, at $32,990.

The mid-range Style is $800 more for both the sedan (now $34,890) and the wagon (now $36,990).

The top-of-the-range RS has increased in price by $500, making the sedan $48,290 and wagon $49,590.

Pricing for the Octavia Limited Edition remains unchanged, with the sedan listing for $44,790 and the wagon being $46,090.

New equipment on the Ambition includes a proximity key, and this grade and the RS now come standard with a power tailgate. Mechanical roller sun blinds for the rear window of the sedan are also now standard across the range. The rest of the Octavia’s equipment list remains the same.Ā

Coming standard on the Ambition is a 10.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, privacy glass, cloth seats and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Style adds sat-nav, front parking sensors and a different style of 18-inch alloy wheel.

The RS comes with a tough-looking body kit and a sporty interior which includes Alcantara-trimmed seats with red stitching.Ā

The RS is more than just sporty looks, it also boasts the more powerful engine of the two four-cylinders available in the range – it’s a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol making 180kW and 370Nm with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.Ā

The Ambition and Style grades have a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder producing 110kW and 250Nm, with an eight-speed torque-converter auto.
