I COULDN'T believe my eyes when I read about the problem with the Commodore fuel gauge. I had the same problem. Last year I was driving home when my motor suddenly stopped. I thought it must have had an electrical fault, particularly when the trip computer was telling me I could still travel 260km. The road service technician pointed out it was lack of fuel, and that it was a common problem. My local Holden dealer told me a lot of vehicles had been recalled, but mine had not. I will now phone Holden and let them know of my dissatisfaction.
GOOD luck. I hope Holden is as good as its word and that your problem is addressed and you're reimbursed for the money you spent on repairs.
