Kia Cerato 2004: Extra three year warranty

I BOUGHT a new Kia Cerato in 2004 and one of the attractions was an extra three-year warranty in addition to the normal three years. The dealer has now told me the extra three years is void unless I have the car serviced every six months when the manufacturer's schedule is every 15,000 km or 12 months. I only drive about 8000km per year.

THE extra warranty is probably one offered by the dealer rather than the manufacturer and comes with different conditions to the manufacturer's warranty. It's important when taking out these warranties to read them carefully and understand what they require. Go back and read the conditions contained in the warranty document to see where you stand.
