A warning message came up on my Commodore SV6 Sportwagon indicating that the Park Assist was faulty. I cleaned the grooves around the sensors with a tissue and the warning message stopped. Can dirt around the sensors cause faults with the system? Also do you think I should notify the dealer or just keep cleaning around the sensors when I wash the car?I would have thought that dust from a dirt road would not be enough to make the sensors faulty.
A build-up of dirt on the sensors can affect the operation, but it would need to be a heavy build-up. I wouldn’t think dust would be enough to do it. Have them checked at the next service.
