My 1964 Honda Accord VTiS has a starting problem. It starts well, but intermittently it does not start, when that happens I have to take my foot off the accelerator and wait for two minutes or so before trying again. It then usually starts. A friend has mentioned that it might be the fuel gauge or the fuel pump that needs replacing. Is this the solution?
I’m guessing it’s not a 1964 Accord, that it’s really a later model and it’s fuel-injected. If it is fuel-injected you shouldn’t be putting your foot on the accelerator when you attempt to start it, that usually confuses the computer and the engine won’t start. Try starting it without touching the accelerator.
