Driving the front wheels is a synchronous electric motor delivering 105kW of power and 250Nm of torque through a two-speed automatic transmission, while the rear axle is drive by a 170kW/320Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic.
The result is a combined output of 275kW/570Nm that can send the Coupe from zero to 100km/h in 4.4 seconds, while the Roadster is 0.2s slower to the landmark speed.
Now fitted with an 11.6kWh battery, the i8 sports a 55km emissions-free driving range, while recharging can be as quick three hours via a 16-amp wallbox.
As standard, the i8 Coupe is equipped with 20-inch wheels, a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen, 11-speaker sound system and adaptive LED headlights, while the Roadster version gains a power-folding fabric roof that can be closed in 15 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h.
