Skyworth Reviews

Skyworth is better known in China as a consumer electronics giant, but the company entered the electric vehicle market in 2021 through a joint venture with EV maker Skywell. The brand’s first model, the Skyworth EV6 SUV, shares its platform with the Skywell ET5 and targets affordable mid-size electric buyers.

The move into EVs came as part of Skyworth’s shift from screens to smart mobility. Its vehicles lean heavily on tech, with large displays and connected features. While sales are still modest, the brand is expanding in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, aiming to build credibility in crowded new-energy markets.

Skyworth cars aren’t yet confirmed for Australia, but the brand is on the radar as more Chinese EVs look for export markets. If it does launch here, it’ll face tough competition from BYD, MG and GWM. Pricing, warranty and support will matter just as much as the tech under the skin.
