The Elite is the entry grade into Hyundai's Kona Electric line-up and has a list price of $59,990.

Coming standard on the Elite is a leather interior, an 8.0-inch touch screen, sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, an Infinity stereo, digital radio, paddle shifters, climate control, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, proximity key and rear privacy glass.

The Kona Electric is a fully electric vehicle. Under the bonnet is an electric motor making 150kW of power and 395Nm of torque. Charging the 356V lithium-ion polymer 64kWh battery takes about nine hours and 35 minutes when using the 7.2kW on-board charger and a home wall unit (which needs to be purchased separately).

Real-world range (WLPT) according to Hyundai is 449km.

The Elite comes standard with blind spot warning, lane keeping assistance, rear cross traffic alert and AEB with pedestrian detection.

But, mainly cars.   A wife and parent, her current daily driver is a chopped 1951 Ford Tudor with a V8.
