The clutch of my 2006 Nissan Navara has developed a whine

My 2006 Nissan Navara D22 clutch has recently developed a whine and isn’t engaging as smoothly as usual, sometimes requiring pressure to fully disengage the clutch. The transmission has also become far clunkier since I noticed the issue with the clutch. Any insight to what might be causing this?
