I'm pulling a 16-foot Coromal pop-top caravan. It’s not heavy and not loaded. The car is a 2002 Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed petrol which seems to rev at a constant 3000rpm, even on open and relatively flat roads. It drops back when level or on decent. Is it normal to rev at 3000rpm, and constantly vary what gear it’s in? It’s making fuel consumption higher than necessary.

I had an oil leak up on the top of the engine cover in my 2013 Mitsubishi Triton. The mechanic claimed, without looking at it properly, that I needed an engine swap. So, I went and got another opinion from another mechanic who said it was a rocker cover gasket leak. Would this make the engine stop running later if it’s not fixed now?

Our 2011 Isuzu D-Max pressurised the cooling system while climbing a large hill. About 100m from the top, the temperature gauge, within seconds, went from normal and rose instantly as water sprayed out the front of radiator and covered the car. We instantly pulled over and let it cool before starting and trying to put coolant in but it blew it back out at us. We switched off the car and refilled the radiator once it had cooled down. We then drove another 40km home without any problems.

We’ve since replaced the radiator, checked thermostat, water to turbo, EGR valve but still have the problem. The vehicle is running fine with no miss or loss of power but pressurising the system still. There’s no water leaking, the radiator stays full and there’s no water in the oil.
