Ford is bringing back a popular version of its Everest off-roader, but don’t expect it to stick around for long.
The Everest Wildtrak is returning to the large SUV range in quarter one this year, however it is part of a limited run of just 950 examples.
Ford introduced the Everest Wildtrak in limited numbers in late 2023 and at that time the price was $73,090, before on-road costs.
The model year '2025.25' Everest Wildtrak in Ford-speak is priced from $76,950, before on-roads, which is an increase over the original. This puts it somewhere between the Everest Sport and Platinum, and very close to the incoming off-road-focused Everest Tremor ($76,590).
The Wildtrak will be exclusively offered with Ford’s 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time all-wheel drive.
The Wildtrak can tow up to 3500kg braked, plus there is an optional 'Premium Towing Pack' for $2900, which adds a tow bar and integrated trailer brake controller, blind spot monitoring trailer coverage and ‘Pro Trailer Backup Assist’.
It features Wildtrak embellishments like a unique grade-specific front grille and bumper, 3D badging on the tailgate, chrome roof rails, accented wheel lip mouldings and exterior mirror covers and the option of the Wildtrak ‘Luxe Yellow’ paint colour.
Other standard gear includes 20-inch alloy wheels, or a no-cost option of 18-inch alloys with all-terrain tyres, a tyre pressure monitoring system, panoramic roof and power blind, 360-degree camera, a 400W power inverter, and black embossed leather-accented front seats with orange stitching.
The Wildtrak grade has been a permanent part of the Ranger ute range dating back to the previous-generation model, but it’s only relatively new to the Everest.
The Everest range kicks off from $54,240 for the 2.0-litre bi-turbo Ambiente two-wheel drive, and tops out at $81,200 for the V6 Everest Platinum 4WD.
The Everest had its best sales year ever in 2024, with a whopping 26,494 examples finding homes last year. That represented a 76 per cent increase over its 2023 sales.
As well as being the country’s sixth best-selling vehicle in 2024, it was the best-selling large SUV in Australia, easily beating the second-placed Isuzu MU-X (17,978).
