Mitsubishi Outlander 2011: Failed transmission

The CVT transmission in my 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander has failed after just 127,000 km, despite a full service history and only local city driving. Mitsubishi are quoting $7000 to fix a 6-year-old car. Is this normal?

I am hearing some pinging noise while accelerating in my 2016 Mazda 3 BN SP25, which has done 14,000 km. I'm using unleaded 91 petrol, am the only driver, and there was no load inside the car when the noise occurred. Is this normal?

My battery is driving too quickly

I have had problems with my 2006 Lexus GS 350 I bought four months ago from a NZ dealer. The problem is that the battery drains itself out very frequently. The dealer has replaced with an old battery on three separate occasions, and once with a new battery. Even Toyota could not fix the problem despite keeping the vehicle for six weeks, and vehicle did not start yet again on the day of return. I just wanted to know if this is a common problem with Lexus or could it be the inefficiency of the dealer to have not carried out a thorough inspection prior to selling it?
