Has Tesla solved range anxiety AND built a car you can tow a caravan with?

But the Tesla Model X 100D I drove for one glorious, glorious week was a seven seater (you can get it in a five or six seater if you prefer). Is it possible there is a superfast car that also actually works for families, so you don’t feel like you’re in a ‘mum’ car? Welcome to the car of the future.

Tesla doesn't do things the way other carmakers do. Instead of trying the halfway-house of hybrid, they went straight to all electric, and the Model X is their latest model. We test the P90D version.

The P100D is the big daddy of the Model X SUV line-up, and at $271,987 comes with the heftiest price tag to match.

The 100D is the deputy sheriff in Model X town and lists for $194,039. Only the P100D is above the 100D but you’ll pay nearly another $80K for that performance version of this car.

The Model X SUV range kicks off with the 75D for $166,488 which is a relative bargain compared to the top-of-the-line P100D which is $100,000 more.
