Bufori is an acronym that stands for Beautiful, Unique, Funtastic, Original, Romantic, and Irresistible. A little-known custom car building company that started in Australia in the mid-1980s.

The company was formed by three brothers who built cars inspired and styled upon American cars from the 1930s. The Bufori exotic boutique cars were built in Australia up until the mid-1990s, until production facilities were established in Kuala Lumpur.

Bufori cars do not come up for sale very often, given they are custom made to suit each original owner. This fine example was one of the last built here in Australia – and is a Bufori MKII. It features pearl violet and silver two-tone paintwork, with loads of luxurious leather and woodgrain on the inside.

This is the first time it has been for sale since the original owner took delivery – and comes with a very unusual feature – 50% scale identical replica of the Bufori MKII!

Yes, an optional feature when the car was ordered new was to include a Bufori Bambino – a real running and driveable scale replica of the full size roadster – plus a custom trailer to fit the Bambino!

The MKII is powered by a Subaru boxer engine.

Are you looking for a totally rare exclusive roadster including the most eccentric option ever offered on an Australian built car?? Then a Bufori is the car for you…

From a very young age, Aaron was drawn to cars. Spotting chrome bumpered classics from the back seat of a 1978 Toyota Corolla as a child, his knowledge grew from basic brands and models to more details and specifications as a teen. He began buying and collecting magazines, reading them cover to cover absorbing as much information as possible. Primarily following local motor racing – and the cars they were built from, Aaron would watch the Bathurst 1000 coverage each year from start to finish. With a broad passion for all classic cars, his specialty is locally built and assembled muscle cars, whilst keeping an eye on the oddballs. Hunting for old cars and the stories surrounding them is a lifelong obsession, often finding them in the most unusual places or via the most unusual people. Fast talking and quick thinking, he’s always on the go. If you want to chat - you're going to have to try and keep up with him!
