A sheriff in the American state of Georgia is in trouble with his bosses at the Department of Justice (DoJ) after buying a brand new Dodge Charger Hellcat using taxpayer funds!

Gwinnett County Sheriff Butch Conway ordered the $70k (USD) 707hp supercharged sports sedan to use both as a commuter and in his role with the "Beat the Heat" anti-street racing program.

Interestingly Conway didn't choose to use one of the other hotted up rides in the "Beat the Heat" pool, including an Impala SS and Chevy Corvette. The DoJ has demanded Gwinnett County repays the purchase price of the Charger.

What car would you choose in the "Beat the Heat" anti-street racing program? Tell us in the comments below.
