Occasionally, despite our best efforts, things slip through the cracks. Rules and regulations are set in place, but when confronted by the ‘boys in blue’ you generally just do as you’re told.

This vehicle may not have existed, were it not for a lucky and persistent first owner, a traffic branch officer in the NSW Police Force. Having made numerous failed attempts to order the car through various dealerships; the original owner was almost ready to give up but thought he would give it one last try.

Straight after finishing his shift, he made his way to the W.Robinson & Son Holden dealership in Lismore. Still wearing his police uniform, the original owner placed the order and crossed his fingers. The dealership not knowing any better assumed the car was going to be used as a highway pursuit vehicle and agreed to take the order.

Built at the Pagewood, Sydney plant in April 1972, it is believed to be the only 350cid V8 / 4-speed manual Kingswood ever built. Adding to the desirability of this unusual special order – this car was built before the first HQ Monaro GTS sedan and the first HQ SS Sedan!

Price expectations may be a little adventurous around $100,000, however where are you going to find another car quite like this??

From a very young age, Aaron was drawn to cars. Spotting chrome bumpered classics from the back seat of a 1978 Toyota Corolla as a child, his knowledge grew from basic brands and models to more details and specifications as a teen. He began buying and collecting magazines, reading them cover to cover absorbing as much information as possible. Primarily following local motor racing – and the cars they were built from, Aaron would watch the Bathurst 1000 coverage each year from start to finish. With a broad passion for all classic cars, his specialty is locally built and assembled muscle cars, whilst keeping an eye on the oddballs. Hunting for old cars and the stories surrounding them is a lifelong obsession, often finding them in the most unusual places or via the most unusual people. Fast talking and quick thinking, he’s always on the go. If you want to chat - you're going to have to try and keep up with him!
