We knew it was coming; we saw the plans, we read the news, we heard it during testing - and now it's here!

Somehow managing to mash together the sounds of the air-cooled, Williams-tuned Mezger flat-six, and the sexiness of Singer-ified Porsches, this 'restored' 911 is guaranteed to blow your mind away.

Revealed by Singer earlier today, the brand new 373kW (500hp) Williams powered 911 features a number of Singer-exclusive details - for lucky owner, Scott Blattner. If you don't know who he is, let's just say he owns three other Singers. So let's just say he's a really big fan.

No idea how much it'll cost, but it'd be best to guess high. And then triple it. (image credit: Singer)

Proudly adorned in an 'Absinthe' green paint scheme with red Porsche lettering and 18-inch BBS magnesium wheels, the reimagined 1990 Porsche 964 911's looks are enhanced with a carbon-fibre front splitter - a Singer first - a bespoke front bumper, and vents on the indicators.

Other features include the oil-cooler nestled behind the front bumper, the cooler's exhuast vents to the side, and the crazy ram-air induction system located in the rear window. Nice.

Supplementing the extra chunk of power are the underbody aerodynamics and uprated suspension. Not that this really needs to be said, but this isn't just a Singer with a bit more power. It's an entire overhaul. As Singers go, this one is a helluva lot more serious.

Did we also mention that the car will only weigh 990kg? That's about 186kg less than a supercharged Lotus Exige V6 - a car that isn't particularly famed for being heavy - and that thing has 'just' 257kW (349hp). To the moon!

Extra goodie-goodies include Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres, Brembo brakes, and a six-speed manual transmission made from magnesium for added lightness. Wait... magnesium?

In terms of the rear visuals, there are extra lashings of naked carbon-fibre, and much bigger wheel arches to accommodate the wider track. There's also a ducktail spoiler at the back too, for that little bit of extra form and function, which instantly reminds us of the old Carrera 2.7 RS from the mid-'70s.

Annoyingly, we can't put our finger on the inspiration for the exhausts. If you have an inkling of where they're from - comment below.

Either way - if it drives half as well as it looks then Porsche really should be looking over their shoulder. After all, it'd be a bit of an odd paradox if a bunch of Americans out-Porsched Porsche.

Who knows, maybe in a couple of years Australia will out-McLaren McLaren. Or Bugatti. Or Volvo!

What do you think of the new Williams-powered Singer 911? Would you prefer to drive it, or look at it? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

James Lisle (aka J3) likes all things cars. Cynical and enthusiastic in equal measure, James loves to clamber into anything with a steering wheel and a decent amount of grunt. Although it may seem the J3 glass is half empty on first acquaintance with a new ride, he maintains a balanced approach and will happily lose himself in technical details relating to even the most common, mass market models. Bore and stroke ratios, specific output stats, and thermal efficiency figures are his guilty pleasures.
