The 2012 model of Suzuki's high-powered sport tourer motorcycle has arrived for summer sporting a new, eye-catching Candy Red colour scheme.

Introduced in 1999 and consistently tested as the fastest production motorcycle in the world, Hayabusa redefined the hyper-sport category and in doing so required its own classification 'ultimate sport'.

Named after the Japanese bird of prey capable of speeds in excess of 300kmh, the Hayabusa has been designed for maximum performance Packed with race-bred technology, the 2012 model features Suzuki's Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system and a 1,304cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, four-cylinder engine providing strong power delivery and impressive torque throughout its broad powerband.

Suzuki's Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) lets riders select one of three engine maps to suit road conditions and their riding preferences, while the slick-shifting six-speed transmission works in conjunction with the innovative Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) back-torque-limiting clutch to deliver smooth and controlled downshifts.

Dual 310mm front disc brakes and a 260mm rear disc brake combine to provide plenty of stopping ability to tame the Hayabusa's power. A lightweight twin-spar aluminium-alloy frame and aggressive and sporty styling complete the potent package.

Available in a new Candy Red colour scheme or a classic Black colour scheme, the 2012 Hayabusa is now available for a $18,990.
