The Mercedes-Benz GLB is related to others in the three-pointed star’s small car stable - A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA - all underpinned by Merc’s ‘MFA2’ platform.
It’s currently offered in two grades; the FWD GLB200, powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol four, and the AWD GLB250 with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine under the bonnet.
The line-up currently starts at $67,600 for the GLB-Class GLB 200 and ranges through to $105,100 for the range-topping GLB-Class GLB 35 4Matic.
The Mercedes-Benz GLB's interior is dominated by the dual 10.25-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen multimedia system.
There are also a range of blingy touches like a star pattern on the dashboard, plus swathes of stainless steel-like inlays.
A panoramic roof is optional which helps lighten the cabin.
The Mercedes-Benz GLB uniquely offers a seven-seat configuration, however the third-row isn't the most spacious.
Synthetic leather and microfibre upholstery is standard and you can option black leather upholstery.
The front seats offer electric adjustability and heating, then each seat in the second row slides and reclines. The third-row seats also recline but don't slide.
