Mercedes-Benz has been building cars for longer than anyone else, but as it expands its electric portfolio it runs the risk of alienating its existing customers. But the new EQE 350 is just what the brand needs, an all-electric luxury sedan that will appeal to both traditional and contemporary buyers.
The EQE350 is priced from $154,900 (plus on-road costs) and is powered by a dual-motor (one on each axle) all-wheel drive powertrain. The combined outputs of the motors are 215kW/765Nm, while the range is rated at 465km on a single charge and energy use is 17.6kWh/100km.
Charging is via a Type 2 CCS plug and it can take up to 11kW AC or 170kW DC.
