If you reckon this looks like a rip-off of a Jeep Wrangler then you’re both right and wrong.

Mahindra bought the licence to produce the Willy’s CJ3B in 1947 so the Thar and Wrangler can trace their DNA to the same model.

It is now available in a five-door version with more modern safety equipment and engines than its MM540 predecessor. Australian sale is not yet confirmed but could be possible.
