"The Lexus CT200h launched in Australia in 2011 as the brand’s first compact hatchback and its most affordable hybrid. Built on Toyota Prius underpinnings, it combined luxury with eco-conscious efficiency, targeting urban buyers seeking premium quality without a large footprint. With its sharp styling and Lexus refinement, the CT200h helped shift perceptions of what a small hybrid could be.
Under the bonnet sat a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined 100kW through a CVT. While not built for speed, the CT200h offered quiet, smooth driving with excellent fuel economy. Inside, it featured the brand’s hallmark attention to detail and strong safety credentials, making it appealing to city-focused professionals and downsizers.
Although popular in Europe and Japan, the CT200h never reached the same heights in Australia. Production ended globally in 2022 with no direct successor. Still, the CT200h paved the way for Lexus’ growing hybrid and EV lineup."
The cheapest new Lexus is a CT200h listed at $40,900. For more info on the latest model, check out our pricing and specs page, and you'll find all Lexus reviews and news here.

Your choices both get The Tick, but the Benz A250 might be too sporty for a retirement car and the A3 is an upscale Volkswagen Golf. A good mate has just bought an Accord Euro and, even though it goes out of production soon, he loves it. You should test-drive all three.

The Lexus CT can be quite confronting when experiencing its interior for the first time. As these images show, there's a lot going on with its dashboard, and things get even busier when moving down to its centre stack. Metallic trim abounds, though, to provide a spark, while supple leather is used liberally throughout.
